Jamie Scott, PMBIA Certified Instructor & Dr. Anastasia Boulais.
Jamie and Anastasia live and ride in Christchurch, gateway to some of the South Island of New Zealand’s best mountain biking. Long-time fans and proponents of the Women in the Mountains philosophy, they are proud to offer regular coaching clinics locally in the Christchurch and Canterbury area.
Jamie, a certified Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBIA), has an extensive background in coaching adults. Holding professional qualifications in Sport & Exercise Science, Human Nutrition, and Sports Medicine, Jamie has spent his career helping people to feel and perform better. He has been involved in coaching across road, track, and mountain biking, from weekend warriors, all the way to elite New Zealand rep athletes and is currently working with New Zealand and UK Enduro World Series racers. Jamie assisted Coach Erica in her first New Zealand Women in the Mountains clinic in 2018.
Anastasia is a Russian-born Australian who now calls New Zealand home. She works as a medical doctor in urgent care clinics and emergency departments around NZ. Prior to her medical training, Anastasia spent many years as a fitness instructor, as well as teaching yoga and pilates, and has a depth of experience in coaching adults.
Having picked up mountain biking for the first time in her mid thirties, Anastasia had to rely on careful skill building rather than recklessness to progress in the sport. She is a Women in the Mountains coaching clinic graduate, having learned from Coach Erica in 2017 in New Zealand. The WITM approach appealed to her as it emphasized fun, safety, gradual progression and control. Over 2018/19 season Anastasia competed in her first downhill and enduro races. She is constantly working on improving her own technical and coaching skills and currently working towards the PMBIA qualification.
Together with her partner Jamie, Anastasia is passionate about helping women build confidence through developing appropriate set of skills for conquering the trails. They are excited to bring the Women in the Mountains programme to Christchurch.
