The Taranaki Navigation Clinic will be held near New Plymouth (Mangorei Memorial Hall) from 9.00am -12pm. The clinic is ideal for beginners or as a refresher for those looking at entering an adventure race or keen to learn some basic navigation skills. The clinic will include reading and interpreting maps, compass work, map preparation, route choice, and an introduction to adventure racing skills.
Following this will be a 2-hour rogaine at a nearby map to practice your navigation as a team. This will be in teams of 2-4 people. You will be able to start the rogaine at 1pm, then there will be 2 hours to collect as many checkpoints as you can, finishing at 3pm.
You are welcome to come along just for the rogaine for some navigation practice as each event will be different from previous ones.
Please email Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details or to register. There will be limited spots available for each clinic so register early for a place.
